Hi

Can employment at a hotel front desk in Japan qualify for the "Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services" visa, if the employer is willing to sponsor? Is it considered ginternational serviceh?

Should be doable, as long as the said hotel cater their business to foreigner, and prove to immigration that they require skill set that is not available to Japanese worker. You need to provide documentation that satisfy the requirement.

There is another category of work visa call 'Specified Skilled Worker'
