Attending Japanese GP this year in April 2024 2024/1/19 04:16
I am planning to attend the Japanese GP with my wife this year, and we are thinking about staying in Japan for about three weeks. One week would be in Mie Prefecture, which would be the race week, and the other two weeks would most likely be in Tokyo. I have some knowledge about Tokyo and the hotels where we can stay, but I don't have any information about accommodations in Mie. Would it be a better option to stay in a nearby city like Kyoto, or Osaka? Apart from the F1 race, we are also planning to visit a couple of famous Shinto shrines in Mie so any suggestion regarding these would also be great.

I tried to look for options on the internet and found a couple of posts that looked very useful to me.

Please feel free to share any other sources of information or if you can share your personal experience of going to the Japanese GP, that would be even better!

Yokkaichi is a fairly industrial city close to the Suzuka track, but they have quite a few hotels within walking distance from the rail station that gets you close to the track.

If you can, book a room south of the Suzuka Circuit. Because 90+% of the people will be coming from north, and traffic (including train passengers) going back is just a mess after the race.

For getting to the GP, Kyoto and Osaka are a long way. Nagoya is better and that is where I stayed when I attended (quite a while ago now).
If in Mie, check out Ise and Toba for a stay.
