18 Kippu on Hokuriku Line

From 16 march, 2024 Kanazawa st to Tsuruga st(130km, 2310 yen)local Line will be non JR

Do you think,18 kippu users can get on, get off only at kanazawa station, daishoji station, Tsuruga station ,Echizen hanando station
(here kanazawa to daishoji st will be operate by IR ishikawa railway ,Hapi line fukui will be Tsuruga station to daishoji station

The Hokuriku Shinkansen extension is very bad news for Seishun 18 Kippu holders. The ticket will generally not be valid on the Hapi Line Fukui and the IR Ishikawa Railway. It means that it becomes impossible to visit Fukui and Kanazawa with a Seishun 18 Kippu. And it becomes impossible to traverse the Hokuriku Region by Seishun 18 Kippu.

The only special exception that will be introduced is that with the Seishun 18 Kippu you can use the Hapi Line Fukui between Tsuruga and Echizen-Hanando Station in order to access the isolated JR Kuzuryu Line. But you are allowed to get on/off only at Tsuruga and Echizen-Hanando.
