Nikko Pass from Asakusa to Tochigi

Am I able to use the Nikko Pass to travel from Asakusa station to Tochigi station? Or Utsunomiya station? How much will the Limited Express fee be?

Also, can I use the Nikko Pass to board the train at Tochigi or Utsunomiya station to return to Asakusa?

I am a foreigner in Japan on a temporary visit.

Yes. Tochigi Station is one of two stations where the pass allows for stop-overs (Skytree Station is the other).

Or Utsunomiya station?

No, the branch line to Ustinomiya is not covered.

How much will the Limited Express fee be?

If you want to use limited express trains on both legs, you would have to buy two separate express tickets. It is 1,250 yen between Asakusa and Tochigi and 950 yen between Tochigi and Tobu-Nikko. About 200 yen more expensive if you use the special Spacia X train.

I decided to take a highway bus from Narita airport to Nikko instead so that I don’t need to transfer. I think price is about the same.

Do you have details of how I can buy ticket for the bus?
I read that I can only buy from the Keisei Bus counter when I arrive at Narita airport. Is that correct?
Is that the only bus that provides the Narita to Nikko transfer?

The only way to buy the bus tickets from Narita Airport to Nikko is to go to the Keisei Bus Ticket Counter at Narita Airport.

But there is just a single bus per day around 14:40! And it takes forever.

It would really be easier by bus so that I don’t need to transfer. We are 3 adults.

The plan is to go to Nikko when we arrive.

Then rent a car to travel to Aizuwakamatsu (7 Apr), Urabandai, Sendai (9 Apr) and Hiraizumi (10 Apr).
Return the car at Utsunomiya.
Then take the train to Haneda to depart.

I have only made the first night hotel reservation.

I forgot to mention that I am from Singapore, 7 hour flight, and I arrive at 6am on 6 Apr.

The timetable is out of date. Currently only the 14:35 departure is operating. All others have been cancelled since the coronavirus era.
