Hello
We are arriving at Tokyo Haneda Airport at 06:00 in the morning and going to Kyoto by Shinkansen. We are six people aged over 60. How do we reach JR Station from Haneda Airport and which Shinkansen do we need to get on? Also, How much walking would be needed from the airport to JR Station?

Take Keikyū Airport Line Express from Haneda airport to Shinagawa station , then Shinkansen to Kyoto.

Just to elaborate a bit from the post above.
After arriving at the "Keikyu Shinagawa Station", walk to the adjacent "JR Shinagawa Station".
JR Shinagawa Station is the first stop after Tokyo Station on the JR Tokaido Shinkansen. Trains to Kyoto are very frequent. JR Shinagawa Station is smaller and much easier to navigate than Tokyo Station.

To elaborate even further: gwhich Shinkansen do we need to get on? Also, How much walking would be needed from the airport to JR Station?h
Buy tickets at Shinagawa because you donft know when youfll really arrive after a long flight
Buy ticket for the next Nozomi Shinkansen. There are also Hikari and Kodama Shinkansen but they are slower and stop more often. But all Nozomi stop in Kyoto, so you can take Nozomi.
If weather seems decent try to buy tickets for seats E&D to see mt Fuji
Regarding the walking. Shinagawa station is relatively compact however tge Shinkansen is at the opposite end than the Keikyu train arrives. So there will be some walking. I havenft measure it. Maybe 300 m?
Japan however generally is a walking country. Yes, there is a lot of public transport but you need to get there. So compared to car reliant countries where in a normal day when you drive to tge office the farest youfll walk is from your desk to the toilet in Japan youfll have walked likely already at least 1-2 km just by walking to a closeby station / bus stop, walking under ground to change trains and walking from station to office. The same is true for tourists. If you arenft used to at least SOME walking every day it will feel like a lot of walking. If someone of your group has mobility issues assess them and consider if a wheelchair might help or if youfd maybe like to splash out money for taxis. Just wondering because you worry about the walking involved when changing trains which in general understanding is always quite limited. Youfll have to do a LOT more walking eventually for tourism.

JR Shinagawa Station is smaller and much easier to navigate than Tokyo Station That is technically true, but Shinagawa station is by no means small and still ranks as one of the busiest train stations in the world.
