Which train pass to buy for Osaka and Kyoto?

Which train pass is most suitable for 10 days from Kansai airport to Osaka (Base) travelling to Himeji, Kobe, Nara, within Osaka and Kyoto (Base)? Thank you.

Almost nobody will ever spend 7000 yen worth of rail travel on 3 days!

For airport transportation, I recommend either regular tickets on the cheap trains or the following ticket:

For simple urban transport, regular tickets are usually the cheapest, especially if you select a geographically wise way of exploring the cities.

I would buy 2 separate passes :
- a 1 day Kansai Wide Area pass for Himeji (as mentioned by Uji)
- a Kansai mini pass for Kyoto, Nara, Kobe: https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/ticket/pass/kansaimini/

Almost all the localised passes never pay off. Or are too narrow in validity to make actually work well.

If you travel on a slower rapid/local to Himeji, those passes may pay off. But if you want to use the 4x faster shinkansen, those passes don't cover it.

IC car is normally the best option. Use to bus/train/subway/tram. I most days you won't hit 2000 yen per day to warrant buying a pass.
