Hi All,
I am in the process of organising my second trip to Japan for October 2024 for 15 days. I have previously done the golden route previously + Hiroshima in 2019. I definitely want to go back to Tokyo/Osaka. I am skipping Kyoto and Hiroshima.
I am trying to keep my itinerary open as possible and just go with the flow so I am kinda open to anything.
Just wondering if I am missing something here or does this make logical sense to go this route?
Thanks in Advance!
Day 0 – Fly into Haneda Day 1 – Tokyo – Hang around Asakusa/Ueno Day 2 – Tokyo – Hang around Shibuya/Shinjuku Day 3 –Tokyo (Day Trip - Kamakura/Yokohama – Hang around Chinatown) Day 4 – Kanazawa – Kenrokuen Garden Day 5 – Kanazawa – Nagamachi District Day 6 – Takayama – Hang around maybe visit Shirakawago? Day 7 – Takayama – Free Day Day 8 – Osaka – Hang around Dotonbori, View Osaka Day 9 – Osaka (Day Trip – Nara view some deer!) Day 10 – Osaka (Day Trip - Nintendo Land) Day 11 – Hakone – Stay a Ryokan w/private bath Day 12 – Tokyo – Visit Mikado Game Center Day 13 – Tokyo (Day Trip - DisneySea) Day 14 – Tokyo – Shopping around Shibuya/Ginza Day 15 – Tokyo – Free day Day 16 – Fly into Dublin

I recommend to visit Harajuku. It is next to Shinjuku and you can see many eccentric-fashioned people walking there. By the way, although I sometimes watch YouTube videos from Mikado Game Center, I've never seen a foreigner including it in the itinerary :-D

If you have not seen Nara yet, you should.

Seems totally fine but spending the majority of the time in places you've already visited could be a bit of a shame considering all the amazing new places there are. However, you should always do what you feel like doing so if those are the most important activities then go for it.

Exciting trip ahead! Consider starting in Tokyo, exploring Kyoto, and experiencing cultural gems like Nara. For family-friendly activities, Tokyo Disneyland is a hit. Enjoy your 15-day adventure in Japan!

Thanks all,
I am open to going to new places so long as it makes logical sense. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I am skipping Kyoto this time as I feel like I seen most of the highlights. Overtourism is a killer also!
