Can I use Seishun 18 Kippu for KIX to Kyoto? 2024/3/27 21:15
Hi, Can I use this pass to travel from KIX airport to Kyoto on Hakura? And like wise from Kyoto to surrounding places?

No, with the Seishun 18 Kippu you can use only local and rapid trains. The Haruka is a limited express train, and limited express trains are not covered.

But you can use local and rapid JR trains to travel between KIX and Kyoto. Non-JR trains, such as Nankai, Keihan, Hankyu and the Osaka and Kyoto subway lines, are not covered.

Which trains can be used?

The ticket is valid only on local trains (futsudensha/kakuekiteisha) and rapid trains (kaisoku), operated by Japan Railways (JR). ...The Seishun 18 Kippu is not valid on limited express trains (tokkyu) and the shinkansen.

Haruka is a limited express train so you can't use it with the Seishun 18 Kippu. Also you can't "top up" the limited express fee.

You can use local JR trains (not the limited express) from KIX to Osaka and then to Kyoto. Also you can travel around Kyoto (and everywhere in Japan) on local trains.

It also doesnft make financial sense. Seishun kippu and s more expensive than a single ticket KIX to Kyoto on local trains.
