Lake Kawaguchiko and Shiraito Waterfalls

I am planning to take a day trip from Tokyo to Lake Kawaguchiko to see Mt. Fuji.
Want to do only 2 activities - ferry ride in the lake and visit Chureito Pagoda.

1. Do you think it is possible to cover Shiraito falls within same day and then be back to Tokyo by night?

2. What would be the most suitable route and mode of travel for this ( which stations/mode of travel)? Would be great if you could please recommend.

3. Is it easy to get taxi from Shiraito falls to Shin Fuji station? What would be an approximate fare?
