2-day Doremon, Hitachi, Ashigawa 2024/4/25 01:18
Hi, we have 2 full days on 11-12 Maywith base in Tokyo and wish to visit the Doremon illumination, Hitachi Seaside Park and Ashikaga Flower Park. We must return to Tokyo on 12 May evening.

We think of renting a car or take the train. One option is:
Day 1 - pick up car, drive to see Doremon Illumination, spend night here

Day 2 - then drive to Hitachi Seaside Park and Ashikaga Flower Park

Or

Day 1 - by train to see Doremon and then return to Tokyo

Day 2 - by train or car, visit Hitachi Seaside Park and Ashikaga Flower Park.

Appreciate any advice. Thx so much.

Actually was planning to do these two parks a few days earlier than you but perhaps will revise my plan.

If you going for nemophila at Hitachi Seaside Park then it will be over at your time frame https://hitachikaihin.jp/en/

Won't have much wisteria at Ashikaga Flower Park https://www.ashikaga.co.jp/parkdayori/flower.php#

To get to Lake Sagami Pleasure Forest by train, you can go from Sagamiko station on the JR Chuo Line or Hashimoto station on the Keio Line (Sagamihara Line) (Hashimoto station on the JR Yokohama Line is also nearby).
I recommend this route because the bus ride is shorter (about 8 minutes) from Sagamiko station on the JR Chuo Line.

It takes about 40 minutes by bus from the north exit of Hashimoto station.

Cars may get stuck in traffic, so the train may be able to move on time.
By the way, Japanese people call it Doraemon, not Doremon.
You can search for train transfer information with these.

Thank you all for your advice.
Am I right to say it is not advisable to go to Hitachi Seaside Park and Ashikagawa Park?

Is there any other park in or near Tokyo with flowers still in bloom?

Thanks!

I can't comment on Hitachi Seaside Park as I have not been before.

There are flowers throughout the year at Ashikaga Flower Park. Here are their May 2023 reporting to get an idea what flowers are blooming in May https://www.ashikaga.co.jp/parkdayori/flower.php?srym=202305

As for me I like to revisit Ashikaga for their wisteria and my time frame may not be ideal for it. So at the moment still indecisive whether to revisit.

In Tokyo, Showa Kinen Park is on my radar https://www.showakinen-koen.jp/flower-information/

By the way, wisterias have already bloomed in Kanagawa prefecture.
I saw wisterias at Kasama Inari-jinja Shrine in Ibaragi prefecture before, and they were in full bloom around May 5th.
It's near Ashikaga, so it's probably the season around that time.
In the middle of May, roses and azaleas are in season.
If you like Doraemon, there is a rose garden in Ikuta Ryokuchi near Fujiko F Fujio Museum (I have never been to the rose garden, but I have been to the nearby Taro Okamoto Museum).

In Tokyo, I like the Old Furukawa Garden.

The azalea at Hakone Yama no Hotel is famous.
