Hello,
I am looking for a nice Onsen in Hakone that has very nice rooms with private hot springs in the rooms for our enjoyment. Price is not an option at this point. Can anyone point me in the right direction or recommend a place near Hakone?
Thanks!
Josh

These look like great selections! How did you find these? I've been looking for a long time. Thank you so much!
Anyone else have any suggestions or experiences in any of these hotels?

I like Hakone Ginyu the best so far. I think I want to reserve there, but their site is only in Japanese, so it's hard to tell the differences between the rooms. Can someone help me out by giving me a description in English of the four room types they have? I would be most grateful!

Josh,
I stayed at this place and it was very, very nice. It is about a 45 minute bus ride from Odawara Station. The onsen was outside (rotemburo), the view was lovely and the food was great. It was about $350 per person, per night. www.senkyoro.jp.co

Do you have privacy in private bath? Will other people be able to see you in your bath from outside?
Unfortunately, it seems my first choice is completely booked. I'm still open to suggestions!
Thanks!

It's private

Hi Josh,
The rotemburo is totally private. When you look at the rooms on the website, the rotemburo appears to be open to the elements. The rotemburos have sliding shoji screens which you can leave open or close. Even if you open the screens, no one can see you. It's completely private. I really enjoyed my stay there. The food was very, very good and they will accommodate special meal requests, such as no fish or no chicken or a western breakfast. A staff member there is fluent in English so you won't have a problem when you send an email. I hope this helps.

Hotel Senkei or ICHINOYU
|

Hi,
Does anyone know whether Hotel Senkei or one of the Ichinoyu ryokans is better. I didn't really like the picture of Ichinoyu Honkan, it looked old and dated. But Gora Ichinoyu and the others like Daihakone Ichinoyu & Hatago Ichinoyu look really nice but far. Any comments on the location and accomodation? Thanks

was built in Taishou era(1911-1925). so,it is old structure. It was popular in `50s and `60s for honeymooners until international travelling embargo was lifted.

I'm planning to go Hakone in Ichinoyu Honkan, and I wonder if anybody has been there? There is three room types, and room type 3 has probably private bath. Or so I understood when I was looking their home pages. If someone has been there could you please tell me if the open-air bath in room type 3 really is private, or is there only chanse to reserve the bath for use?

http://www.hakone-furusato.com/I was there just last week! I didn't have the hotspring in room but from pictures they look quite nice. I took the cheapest room available there but just that well exceeded my expectation. Staffs are super friendly, and the public onsen was clean and well maintained. I can give you more info if you decide to book this one. Regards, Jellygeee
