Dear friends and Japan specialists,
My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Japan in September, and we would greatly appreciate your opinion about this itineraire...
We are in doubt whether we should visit the Alpine Route instead of going to the Kiso Valley or Kamikochi...
Does any one have any suggestions?
Sep 16 - arrival in Tokyo Sep 17 -Tokyo Sep 18 - Tokyo Sep 19 - Mount Fuji/ Hakone or Lakes Sep 20 - Kamakura Sep 21 - Kiso Valley (overnight in Tsumago) Sep 22 - Kyoto Sep 23 - Kyoto Sep 24 - Nara Sep 25 - Takayama Sep 26 - Kamikochi Sep 27 - back to Tokyo via Matsumoto Sep 28 - Tokyo (departing at 19h00)
Thank you so much for your help!
Peter P.

mate that looks like a pretty organised itinery, i visited tokyo and kyoto/nara, 2 days in tokyo and kyoto is definately minimum. be sure to check out shinjuku/shibuya and ueno.dont worry about the subways, there easy as to navigate.english signs and easy markers.kyoto is the same but with buses, not a problem to get around, just get a timetable and map from the station.be sure to check out the monkies in kyoto, its a blast. enjoy it mate.

I think Kiso Valley and Kamikochi are more worthwhile. The Alpine Route is nice, but expensive and a little bit more difficult to access.
