I would suggest Kamuiwakka falls in hokkaido. I have not been to Japan yet, but I think the fact that its a natural hot spring waterfall is reason enough to check it out. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6851.htmlHas more information on the Kamuiwakka falls

Take a look at Narai, a Kisokaido town. It's like stepping back into a Japanese print in the Edo period.
