Yukata 2007/8/27 14:54
Quick question. If a hotel offers yukata in the room, can you take them home?

Yukata that are made available in hotels and ryokan are for your use while you are staying there and shouldn't be taken home. Occasionally yukata will be offered for sale at the hotel gift shop.

Some larger hotels will let you take along the semi-disposable slippers that they provide. Some are quite nice, eg, Granvia. Their packaging will usually tell you if it's OK.

yukatas from the hotel 2007/8/28 01:53
no, you cannot take the yukatas offered in the hotel rooms, same goes for the towels etc.
I've noticed some ryokans or hotel have specials at times, offered as gifts included in room prices now days but generally not so in most hotels.
Many big hotels sell them in the gift shops as other poster indicated. Only thing about this is even if you purchase them, to some people, they think you stole the yukatas from the hotel. Therefore, it's my wish that the hotel or the sellers will put labels on the yukatas as retail.
