ramarao,
Basically Japanese cell phones do not use SIM cards. Please type in "cell phone" and "SIM" into search function. There are many threads on this topic :)

N70 will be ok 2007/9/8 01:24
My nokia 6630 (wich is older than N70 ) was fine in japan with my italian sim.
N70 will be ok in Japan, the important thing is the 3G capability of your mobile phone and the N70 support the 3G standard. about the SIM card, if your mobile operator has a roaming agreement with a japanese operator you'll be able to use your number even in Japan. but beware of higher airfares during romaing!
