Help in New York. 2007/9/29 04:02
Is there an agency in New York that can help me plan a 14 day trip to Tokyo, Hakone and Kyoto in November? I have my airline tickets but need advice in scheduling transportation and securing accomodations as well as tours. I have done quite a bit of research, but I'm totally confused by the many options.
Thank you for your advice.

Not sure where in New York you are, but if you are in New York City, in NYC there are branches of JTB, Kintetsu Travel etc, these are big name travel agencies in Japan.

Of course Japan-guide could be helpful too.

Thank you both so very much. I have been to the JNTO, and they were helpful with brochures and suggestions. These new links seem to have consultation service which is what I need now. I plan to visit all of these offices next week. So many, many options!! Thank you again.

Doreen, I agree with John as well - there is a lot of info here - also on fodors.com, not only in their destination and accommodations section but they have a Asian discussion forum with a number of detailed trip reports.

I have taken two trips to Japan - one to Tokyo and one to Kyoto and made all the arrangements on my own.

If you're going in November you really should get your reservations soon particularly in Kyoto as it is busy there for fall foliage.

Enjoy!
