I would like to visit my sister in law in the Gunma provence. Is it miserable and cold, or worthwhile and beautiful? In need of honest advice! I'd be interested in skiing, but also sight-seeing!

The weather in southern Gunma is sunny and cold with almost no snow. The weather in northern, mountainous Gunma is much colder and there is lots of snow.
Gunma is worth visiting at any time of the year.

Gunma is very famous for having strong dry winds in winter blowing from the mountains, which will make you feel very cold. So keep warm there.
