Can large dogs get on bullet train?

We live in Misawa and are about to buy a big dog, but I am worried about when we PCS back, will we be able to use the train with a large dog? I know that this isnt the only means of transportation but it will be the easiest for us.

Only small animals are allowed on trains, and they must be kept in cages.
