not a subway pass 2007/12/5 08:05
It's best you don't think of it as a "subway pass", as JR doesn't run the subway systems in the cities and the pass can't be used on the subways, just the above ground trains run by Japan Rail.

What does the pass below cover?

They are various passes for Nishitetsu Railway only. Only for access to Dazaifu will you be using Nishitetsu, so it makes no sense to buy any pass for Nishitetsu.

You could also consider traveling by highway bus:

No need to buy any pass? 2007/12/6 01:40
My plan is to visit the places below.

Looks like I do not need to buy any JR Rail passes at all right?

Day 1 : Hakata to Kumamoto ・Castle museum, Mt Aso

Day 2 : Hakata to Nagasaki (how to go?)

Day 3: Hakata to Dazaifu (nishitetsu highway bus )

Day 4: Hakata to Marinoa City (nishitetsu highway bus : 40 mins?)

Day 5: Hakata to Beppu (how to go?)
