Buddhist retreat centers near Kyoto 2007/12/6 05:30
I have a free weekend in Japan. I am a new insight meditation practitioner. Are there any retreat centers in or near Kyoto I might visit and stay in, in early Feb. 2008? thank you
Or, are there recommended special places you would recommend for a practitioner?

Not sure, but you might inquire about Daitoku-ji in Kyoto. We attended a brief Zazen session at one of the sub-temples there in May. They may have longer arrangements available.
