University 2007/12/7 13:12
I'm a senior in high school, and am going to attend college in the States. However, I want to go to Japan. Is it wise to transfer to a Japanese school say 2 years into college? Not something as prestigious as Tokyo U. but something with mechanical engineering. Would these 2 years be enough for me to learn Japanese? (i.e. get a job in Japan) Thank you!

Most people would require something like 5-10 years to acquire a Japanese proficiency level sufficient to enter a Japanese university and study mechanical engineering.

You could pick a course which allows you to stay in Japan as an exchange student... I'm doing it now (study Japanese) but my friend who did Chemistry in UCLA also got to do an exchange program here.
