Car hire or Shuttle from Hakuba to Kyoto

Considering other options to trains / buses between Hakuba (Happo-one) and Kyoto.
1. Is there a private shuttle service which 4 adults could hire to make the trip?
2. Is there a car rental service, where we could collect a car in Hakuba and drop off in Kyoto?

Im not sure if you can fly from Matsumoto down to Osaka? probably expensive but you never know.

Yes, that is actually one more option! There is one flight per day from Matsumoto Airport to Osaka's Itami Airport.

However, there is no direct public transportation from Hakuba to Matsumoto Airport. You would have to go via central Matsumoto.

We had a look at the flight option and trains. That left us wondering if there was a car rental company at Hakuba that we could use with a one way rental and drop off in Kyoto?
Alternatively, we were wondering if there were mini busses or private shuttles that might be a good option for 4 adults between those areas?

The only rental car outlet I find in Hakuba is Eki Rental Car by JR East. However, they will not let you drop off the car outside the JR East service area, which does not include Kyoto. Of course, all companies have outlets in Matsumoto, many of which will let you drop off a car in Kyoto for a drop off fee.
