Hello...
I'll be in Tokyo this December and thinking of going to Kyoto for a day trip...I'll have a JR pass..do you know how long is the trip and any timetable?

you can find out the time table and fares on JR's site... japanrail.com they have an english search tool called "hyperdia" that you can use to find trains and certain times/days. It will give you all the info you need.
