UK DVD's in Japan

Does anyone know if UK DVD's will play through Japanese TV's? I guess the DVD player will convert the frequency but can Japanese TV's recieve it?

Japanese TVs do not accept PAL signal. You need a DVD player that supports PAL DVD and NTSC output.
