I would not recomend taking the bus from Nagoya to Tokyo. I am pretty sure that the trip (by bus) would be pretty long...

I would recomend taking the Shinkansen (Bullet Train)... It is really not that expensive, and it will get you there fast, so you can maximize your time in Tokyo...

Here is a link for the Nagoya-Tokyo bus information

If you are comfortable on buses then highway buses and night buses in particular are a good discount travel method. They save you money on travel, accomodation, and save you sightseeing time.

Check out this company which is the only one I know of that has online reservations in English. Nagoya - Tokyo is listed at 3000 yen one way

Ways to travel between Nagoya and Tokyo:
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3302.html

There are many companies operating daytime and nighttime buses between Nagoya and Tokyo, stopping at various stations in Nagoya and Tokyo.

Most daytime buses stop at JR Nagoya Station and Sakae bus terminal ina Nagoya, and at JR Tokyo Station.
