Hello, I would like to know which date the following are to be held in 2008 each.
KYOTO: Setsubun (February 3 or 4 - which?) NARA: Lantern Festival at Kasuga Shrine (February 3 or 4 - which?)
Thank you.

Thank you but the page didn't really tell me anything I didn't know. Is there not a page with specific dates for these things by place or temple? I'm particularly interested in Nara's Lantern Festival.

I can't read Japenese so wasn't able to divulge much from the link to the website above. Can i get clarification that the Setsuban Mantaro at Kasuga Taisha is on 3 February for 2008? 3 February will be when the lanterns are lit at 6pm?
I'd love to see this as it seems magical and don't want to miss it by turning up on the wrong night.
Thank you alot.

I know you can't read Japanese; believe it or not, I can read very little. But the following page is from the Nara City Sightseeing guide: http://narashikanko.jp/j/ivnt/ivnt_data/ivnt6/ In bright red letters it says the year (we are in Heisei 20), the month (2月)and the day (3日). I would trust this info, myself. You can use an internet translator for this too - I don't know what browser you have but try right-clicking, then click 'page info' and then click 'translate page into English'. Very funny results but often comprehensible.

I'm sorry, I forgot, the month 2月 would be February and the day 3日 would be the 3rd. And it's talking about Kasuga Daishi. Really.
