When travelling to ski onsen (Nozawa for example) during February - will it be possible to get cheaper accommodation (pensions, budget ryokans) without booking in advance - like just arriving and finding something that day?

It will likely be possible on weekdays but discouraged on weekends, especially Saturday nights.

Thankyou - we would be arriving at Nozawa on Sunday afternoon - do you think this would be OK? It's going to be in February.

Sunday nights are usually among the least busy nights, unless the following night is a holiday.
