1 day in takayama, is it enough ? 2008/2/26 16:55
I and hubby plan to visit Takayama on May 26th, we'll arrive around 11am in Takayama.
Is it enough to cover all part of this town as on 27th 9.30am we will go already to Tsumago (via bus in Gero).

Some of friends advice us to stay in takayama at least for 2 days and just skip tsumago. Is it worthed ?
Any advice please ?
Thanks a lot ...

hida folk village? 2008/2/26 18:25
As long as you want to stay only in takayama, i would say one day is sufficient. if you want to visit hida folk village with its beautiful old houses, i would recommend to stay for another day. the old merchant houses and the takayama jinja along with the morning markets can be covered in one day. as for tsumago, i do not know, never been there. take care,

There is enough to see in Takayama to spend two days. If you stay only half a day, you will obviously be able to see only one or two main attractions:
