i will be travelling in July with my two children aged 9 and 10 from Tokyo to Sapporo. i would like to take a night train, but only if we can all sleep in one cabin or suite. does anyone know whether such cabins are available?
Many thanks

The outer most "Cassiopeia Twin" rooms on each car of the Cassiopeia have room for three people.

Ian,
I don't know whether this is quite what you were after, but the regular Hokutosei sleeper trains have a large number of 4-person couchette compartments. Outside the peak seasons, you would probably have the compartment to yourselves.
