I'm planning a trip to Mt Fuji and would like to make sure that the weather is fine. I got caught in a heavy snow blizzard the last time I was there and didn't get to go up to the 5th station. I like to confirm if 富山県 is the region that Mt Fuji is in?
I found the following weather reports for what I think is the Mt Fuji region. Is this right or am I way off course? Thanks! http://search.weather.yahoo.co.jp/bin/search?pref=16&p=&s.x=38&s.y=13

When will you be going? Are you aware that the climbing season runs from July-August? Also 富山県 is Toyama prefecture which is almost 200km from Mt. Fuji. Fuji straddles Shizuoka (静岡県) and Yamanashi (山梨県) prefectures See this page for more info: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2172.html

Go to this website: http://www.wunderground.com/ and type in Gotemba, Japan in the search function. There are no weather stations in the immediate vicinity, but there are plenty surrounding Mt. Fuji. Click on the WunderMap below the photos and you can see where the individual weather stations are located. Pan out a click or two to see where the stations are located. If you want to see what Mt. Fuji looks like the morning of your climb (or the day before), visit this website: http://live-fuji.jp/fuji/livee.htmGood luck and have fun!!
