Should I buy JR pass? 2008/3/26 04:14
My mother and I will be travelling from Narita Airport to Tokyo, spending the night and next day in Tokyo and then proceeding to Kyoto where will will then go on a couple day trips to Nara, Himeji Castle, Osaka. Then we will be returning to Narita Airport 5 days later. My question is: It costs $283 USD for the 7-day rail JR pass. Is this worth it for us? Are there JR trains that we can take to Nara, and Himeji?
Thanks for any help!

Yes, there are JR lines from Kyoto to Nara and to Himeji (shinkansen). The Rail Pass would be good value, especially if you can use it to and/or from Narita.

JR pass is really economic if you intend to move alot. Even if you decided to make a last min addition to your itinery, you dun need worry about the cost of tpt.Plus most place of int near station.
