What is the best way to go from Narita airport to Kyoto? Thanks in advance.

By train via Tokyo (Narita Express and Tokaido Shinkansen). Or by plane via Osaka's Itami Airport (direct flight between Narita and Itami and then a 1 hour airport bus ride to Kyoto).
