Hakone to Kyoto

Hi all

I will have a JR pass and be wanting to get from Hakone (after a 2 day/1 night stay) to Kyoto preferably leaving late afternoon.

Are there regular services at this time, which station would I have to go to and would we need to change at any stations?

How long would the journey take?

You can catch a shinkansen from either Odawara (at the base of Hakone), Mishima Station (1 hour by bus from Lake Ashi).

These are the departure times of direct hikari trains in the evening:

From Odawara:
16:09, 18:09

From Mishima:
15:48, 17:48, 19:48
