Kanazawa-Ueno Overnight JR East Pass OK?

Hi, I'm planning to take the overnight train (EX Noto) from Kanazawa to Ueno. I know this is covered by the JR Pass but is it covered by the JR East Pass? The information schedule I get from japanrail.com ( http://www.japanrail.com/pdf/timetable_fare/timetable_fare54...) says YES but I don't find any info on this on JR East's website. Can anyone confirm this?

No, Kanazawa is way out of the service area of JR East. The pass covers the journey as far as Naoetsu. From there, you would have to pay a supplement of around 4500 yen.
