I am not familar with Takeyama. I recommend to visit Kanazawa before Takayama:
Kyoto - Kanazawa - Takayama - Kamikochi - Shirahone - Tsumago - Kansai Airport
The number of nights sounds good. It will be a relatively fast pace, but not too fast.

I came back from a trip to Chubu region mid April. Starting from Nagoya: Takayama 2nights Shirawaka-go - 1night Kanazawa - 1night Toyama - 1night Tateyama (Murodo) - 1night Matsumoto - 1night Kamikochi-Hirayu Onsen-1night Then head for Tokyo. U could go to Kansai instead. Suggest that 1night in Shirawaka-go & stay in a gassho house....a real experience. Lots of daytrippers just pass through with a few hours to spend at Shirawaka-go. We went to Tateyama for the snow corridor and really enjoyed our stay at the onsen at Murodo...beautiful sunset.
