Climbing Mt Fuji advice/tips

Hey all. Just looking for advice or tips. First up I will be arriving in Japan in mid August and backpacking around for 3 weeks before going to the UK. I am quite keen to climb Mt Fuji in this time, to the summit. Just wondering if there is any advice you could give me, seems to be abit aroudn online but anyone got any personal advice??? Also any accom/backpackers you could recommend in the area since i dont want to haul my pack up to the top!!! and would want to spend a night or to there

Some basic advice: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6901.htmlMid August is the busiest of all times. I personally would not consider staying at a hut but hike through the night, because it might be tough to make a reservation and even worse to spend the night with your face between the feet of your neighbours (huts get very crowded).
