Patchwork in Furano/Biei in 2 Oct 2008 2008/7/12 16:26
Hi,

Can anyone advise whether there will be colorful patchwork to be seen in Furano/ Biei in 2 October?

Btw, isit advisable to plan a visit to Lake Toya in early October?

Helps and comments are highly appreciated.

colorful...? 2008/7/14 12:55
If your "colorful" means red, orange, pink and blue, I'm afraid you can't see them in Oct.
Because it's a harvest season.
However you can see brown and green fields as if it's in a old sepia photo.

Even in fall, the plant called ''KIGARASHI'' will bloom. It's a kind of field mustard.
Sometimes you'll see late sunflowes, too.
Anyway Oct in that area's in season of harvest and KOYO.

Hi nr,

Thanks for the info. Initially i was hoping to see 'multi-color' patchwork..but seems like the chances of seeing it is very low.

Btw, do u hav any recommendations to be visited during this period.

Thanks in advance.

Hi.
Though I don't know which country you come from and what you're interested in, I recommend Asahi-dake ropeway.
Hokkaido has the earliest KOYO in that season and it's most popular attraction for visitors.
Sorry I haven't been to Furano area in fall but, as far as i'm concerned, it's well worth seeing.

In fall you can have many kinds of tasty foods of Hokkaido. Those're available in any areas. If you like it, the best food in fall is salmon. And other fishes, of course vegetables and fruits are too.
I think you know that Hokkaido's charms attract people are not only its land but foods.

During the nights the temperature is likely to drop below zero, however, during the day it is probably above freezing.

About one hour:
