Carmen, My tip would be to first read through all the information provided on this very site, as it gives details of all the must-see place in Tokyo and elsewhere. Depending on how long you intend to stay and the places you intend to visit, consider purchasing a JR Rail Pass. Will save you a bundle.

The only general suggestion I can make (particularly if you have traveled a long way) is to travel to other areas beyond Tokyo. Some travelers don't even like Tokyo. Japan is a varied country the size of California, with attractions spread throughout.
