Tsukimi festival 2008/7/15 21:28
Hi,

I noticed that on Sep 15 the Tsukimi will take place.

Is this a national holiday? Is everything closed and are the Japanese traveling on that day?

Also, I will be in Kyoto on that date but planning a day trip to Nara then. What's the best way to experience the festival?

Thanks,
W.

Tsukimi festival is an event enjoyed at home.
Looking full moon, Japanese pampas grass is decorated, and eating rice cakes.

Thank you Hikari, so I don't have to worry about lots of people travelling and stores, museums etcetera that close?
