Could any one tell me how I can get to hanamaki, or Shin-Hanamaki? I want to visit the city with folk-lore on Kappa..Thank you very much!

The easiest way is to fly from Osaka to Hanamaki Airport (85 minutes; regular oneway fare: 35,000 yen; typical discount: 15,000 to 31,000 yen)
