Boat from Nagasaki to Kumamoto

Hi,
We want to get from nagaski to kumamoto in october. Can anyone give me details of how to do the trip by boat- ie how long does it take, how often to boats leave, do you need to get a train from nagasaki to the boat port and likewise from the boat port to Kumamoto?

There are no direct boats from Nagasaki City. However, there are boats from Nagasaki Prefecture's Shimabara Peninsula to Kumamoto Port.
You would have to take a bus or trains from Nagasaki to Shimbara Port first (about 2 hours) and then take a ferry (30 minutes, 800 yen, frequent departures).
