Ask Believe Receive in japanese 2008/8/12 23:41
Can someone show me how to write, using katakana, kanji or hiragana, "ask...believe...receive" A friend of mine wants it framed for her wall at work, but I can't find it anywhere. Thanks!

It sort of depends on what nuance your friend is looking for. Just the verbs (unconjugated) are:

to ask (tanomu) 頼む
to believe (shinjiru) 信じる
to receive (uketoru/ukeru) 受け取る/受ける

But when it's said this way in English, it seems to imply that if you ask, and you believe you will receive. I'm not sure that the infinitives of the verbs in Japanese carry the same meaning, or if that's really the intended meaning...
