accomodation in takayama 9.10

can someone assist with finding accomodation for one night during the fastival around 100-150$ per room (2 people)

Its the evening of the Takayama Festival! Hotels across Takayama have been sold out for months. You can try your luck in neighboring areas such as Furukawa, Gero, Okuhida or Shirakawago. Or inquire at travel agencies about possible cancellations.

And how exactly did you end up finding rooms? On the internet? If yes, what site? Through a friend? I think it would be interesting to know for others who are in the same situation.

Yes. I search the internet for 3 days "Takayama accommodation" and just email everyone. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the site. i did get replay a few days ago from Pension Cocotte that they have a room (not sure how close is it)
