What do you think? Any suggestions welcome.
I"m not sure whether to start the JR pass as indicated so it covers my trip from Tokyo back to Kansai Airport.
I was thinking of doing Osaka and Kyoto first and then going to Hokkaido on the 13/11, starting the JR pass then so I can use it to travel around Hokkaido. Then I can buy one way ticket from Tokyo back to Kansai airport.
Because I can't use the JR pass in Fuji/Hakone areas should I do a day trip from Tokyo to Hakone/Fuji instead?

You can save lots of time by flying from Hakodate back to Osaka instead of returning via Sapporo.
As for Koyasan, I strongly recommend an overnight sytay at a temple lodging.

I did initially think of flying from Hakodate Osaka but JAL are suspending flights for this route starting from 1st Nov 2008, and it doesn't seem any of the other airlines fly this route.
