Staying at the Dotonbori Hotel after arriving 8.30pm Osaka on Jetstar. What's the best way to get to the hotel? Should I try to contact them to say we will be late (maybe 11pm )?

Thanks. Is there a more direct way without the taxi necessary? ....and will the Dotonbori Hotel hold our room that late?

Assuming you clear customs at 9pm There's a 9:14pm Nankai AirPort Line Exp train (940yen) directly to Nankai's Nanba station. Of which it's a 10-15min walk to Hotel Dotonbori. With luggages i find it was easier to walk underground rather than on the surface. Just follow the signs towards Nanba Subway Station and look for Exit 25 which would be inside Namba Walks Underground mall Here's a map http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a30/nexusangel/nanbaarea.jp...

Thank you. Anybody know if the train or bus is a better choice at night and with a bag each?

No big difference

There is no big difference, as RobBeer says. I'd take a train too because Airport limousine is often more "touristy" than a commuter train.

After a whole day flying from Brisbane, I'm not sure we need travel- with- the- commuter experiences that night, however we'll go with the favoured option and take whatever train goes first and walk to exit 25 and out. Thank you all.

It is not a good idea to get "whatever train goes first". If you get on the Nankai AirPort Line Local it stops at every station and takes 80 minutes to get to Namba. Get either the Nankai AirPort Line Express (47 minutes) or the Nankai Rapit (37 minutes).
