Autumn in Kyoto 2008/9/30 14:16
Can anyone feel if the autumn in Kyoto will come early this year? I plan to go to see it during the last week of Nov, but am so afraid it would be too late at that time because I heard that the weather is right getting cold day by day.

Thanks Candy

Autumn leaves season is not as short as Cherry blossom in spring and it's probably you will be able to enjoy them.

Please confirm again around 15th of Nov at this forum :)

autumn foliage 2008/10/1 01:43
Normally the end of Nov. is perfect for autumn foliage in Kyoto, esp. the Arashiyama/Sagano area. Ts is right to point out autumn leave season is slightly longer that cherry blossom season, so I think you'll be OK. Here are a couple more sites on autumn foliage, though in Japanese:

If u log on to Japan Meteorological weather you will see the forecast for October predicts an increase of avereage temperatures of 40 -50% which to me means I will miss out on my October holiday but u shd gain and it will be later in Koto anyway .If it beats New England tt will be fantastic.

red leaves 2008/10/3 21:45
The last few years, the best time to visit Kyoto for the red leaves was between nov 12 and nov 24. Many hotels also have these sign-boards with red leave information for almost every place of interest in Kyoto.
