We are planning on using the hakone free pass from shinjuku for our stay in January 2009.
1. Are there any hotels with onsens near the stops in hakone? (preferably under US$200 per nite)
2. Are we able to ride straight from shinjuku to Hakone or do we still need to change train at odawara?

Are there any hotels with onsens near the stops in hakone?
The large majority of hotels and ryokan in Hakone have onsen and are located within easy reach of a bus or train station on a line covered by the Hakone Free Pass. I am sorry, I have no specific recommendation.
Are we able to ride straight from shinjuku to Hakone or do we still need to change train at odawara?
You can ride straight to Hakone-Yumoto Station.
