Is there any limit to the number of times one can purchase a JR East Pass during each stay in Japan? For eg. Can I purchase a new JR East Pass after the expiry of one?

If you buy them outside of Japan, there is no limit. If you buy them inside Japan, there is a limit of one pass per stay and person.
