After shopping, I watched TV.
- Kaimono no ato (de), terebi wo mimashita. (After shopping, I watched TV.) - Kaimono kara kaetta ato (de), terebi wo mimashita. (After I returned home from shopping, I watched TV.) - Kaimono wo shita ato (de), terebi wo mimashita. (After I did some shopping, I watched TV.)
You can also say: - Kaimono wo shite, sore kara (uchi de) terebi wo mimashita. (I did shopping, and then (at home) I watched TV.)

That's great. The text books only ever give one way of saying something but knowing other ways of saying the same thing give a far better understanding of the language. Cheers!!
