What to do just before New Year's Eve? 2008/11/8 08:25
I will be in Tokyo from December 24 until January 1. I see that for the first few days of my visit, I'll have no problem finding things to do -- everything will be open as usual. But towards the end, many things will be closed for the holidays. Can anyone give me suggestions as to what might be interesting for me to see or do, particularly on December 29 or 30? Any sights, shows, worth seeing?

Thanks,
Ed

What are your interests? Many of the attractions (shops, temples, shrines, surrounding hot spring resorts) listed below remain open:

Those may be some good days for shopping, but we (my wife and I) can't just shop for 3 days. Shrines and gardens sound interesting. How about any theatre or musical events? Any interesting day trips away from the city?
